India’s Minister of state for power has recognized efforts in the field of energy conservation.
New Delhi: Recognizing most energy-efficient Air Conditioner manufacturers, the Ministry of Power, Government of India has awarded LG Electronics India with the National Energy Conservation Award 2014 as manufacturers of BEE Star Labeled Appliances (Air Conditioners) Sector. Conferred by the Union Minister of State for Power, Coal and New & Renewable Energy (Independent Charge), Shri Piyush Goyal on the National Energy Conservation Day, the National Energy Conservation Award promotes and celebrates India’s benchmarks in energy conservation.
Receiving the prestigious award on behalf of LG Electronics India, Mr. Sourabh Baisakhia, Business Head, Room Air Conditioners, LG India, said “We feel privileged and honored after being awarded as manufacturers of BEE Star Labeled Appliances in the Air Conditioners sector. This joint acknowledgement by Ministry of Power and Bureau of Energy Efficiency is particularly special as it recognizes our efforts in producing innovative technology for consumers that are not only the most energy efficient products but also provide added features – an area we value greatly at LG. We would be continuing our approach towards expanding the high energy-efficient in other segments by continuing the development of new technologies. In 2015 we expect 30 % of our overall RAC sales to come from 5 star rated AC.”
LG was awarded on the basis of its outstanding achievements and contribution in the field of energy conservation through sales of energy efficient appliances. LG being the industry leader and pioneer in technology introduced the new range of Mosquito Away Air Conditioners specially designed pertaining to the requirements of Indian consumers. Presently the new range of LG Air Conditioners (Split & Window) features an energy saving mode that consumes minimum energy while maintaining body comfort by applying Body Adaptation Time Algorithm (BATA) to Air Conditioners.
Presented for the first time in 1991, the award has annually recognized manufacturers who have made systematic, consistent and serious attempts to create awareness about the use of energy-efficient appliances. Since 2010, it has drawn more and more manufacturers of BEE Star-labelled appliances and equipment.
